I am both excited and nauseous because my first paid photography job is quickly approaching. I'm shooting a friend's wedding on the 22nd, and while I was terrified that I would do a horrible job and they wouldn't have any pics of the big day, now I am only scared that they won't be professional-looking enough to use in a portfolio. I look at the websites of wedding photographers and just pray that I can be that good someday, but the sooner the better!
In my attempt to do the best job possible, I recently bought a new lens. It's a 50mm, f/1.4 which is good for portraiture because it's gives that fabulous blurry background that I love. I've been practicing with it and I absolutely adore it! With that lens and Superman, my flash that can work wonders, I know I can get some really good shots. But I don't just want really good, I want incredible! I'd love for this job to be a stepping stone to more work, preferably weddings and senior portraits. I also think I'd like to get into photographing children and pets, but that would be a bit harder, so one step at a time.
Later I hope to post some of my practice shots for feedback.
